Our History and Heritage
Grafalloy® was founded in 1973 by David Stanley in Yuba City, California. As an avid golfer and aerospace engineer, David saw the potential for graphite to revolutionize golf shafts. At the time, steel was the dominant shaft material. But graphite offered new possibilities with its lightweight yet strong properties.
David got to work designing early prototype graphite shafts in his garage. He eventually introduced the Grafalloy® ProLite, one of the first mass-produced graphite golf shafts on the market. The ProLite took the golf world by storm and suddenly graphite shafts were the next big thing.
Over the next several decades, Grafalloy® continued innovating and expanding its graphite shaft offerings. We brought game-changing technologies like triaxial braiding and nano-resin materials to our designs. Many of the industry’s most iconic shafts bear our name, including the Blue, Red, and most notably, the Tour Design ProLaunch series.

At our Yuba City, California headquarters, we proudly handcraft every Grafalloy® golf shaft from start to finish. We perform all engineering, prepreg production, composite shaft fabrication, quality validation and shipment. This ensures a level of quality control simply not possible overseas.
Our American-based manufacturing also allows us to quickly implement innovations in materials and processes.
